Advanced Nitrox Ntech Diver

As ITDA Scuba certification programs evolved from our Technical diving background it made sense for us to create an upgrade path for any agency Nitrox divers to study and learn more about using nitrox for safer diving, with theory in decompression and as an introduction to technical diving. Using higher oxygen levels to reduce decompression time and make stops shorter.

About our Advanced Nitrox Ntech Programnitrox

After the Scuba Diver Nitrox or Open Water Nitrox Certifications, where can a diver learn more about Nitrox Diving at a reasonable cost and not taking up weeks and weeks of time, like many technical diving programs do?  Simple ITDA Advanced Ntech Nitrox is the answer!  This program is also an entry level to our extensive technical diving certifications...  Link to ITDA Technical Diving

Who may enter the Advanced Nitrox Program?

Any agency diver with a Nitrox Diver Certification may take the program providing they are a minimum of 16 years of age, Limitations will exist for divers under 18 years old in terms of depth and decompression dives.  Note for Technical Certifications divers MUST be over 18 years of age at graduation... Otherwise, Any Diver from Any Agency with 30+ (Minimum of 10 dives on nitrox) Dives may enter this Advanced Nitrox Program... NOTE: Diver may with some agencies obtain a Nitrox Diver certification without diving using Nitrox gas... WE NEED TO SEEnitrox PROOF OF A MINIMUM OF 10 DIVES ON NITROX...

ITDA highly recommends training in CPR First-Aid and Diving First-Aid Oxygen First=Aid from IHMP First-Aid and Medical Training available from ITDA/IHMP Instructors worldwide.

ITDA Advanced Nitrox Ntech Certification Overview

  • x4 Training Dives with skills on Nitrox Mixes of up to 40% (Normally 2x dives on 36% and 2x dive on 40%
  • Dives MUST planned in accordance within MOD limits for the gas mix with a safety margin of 20%
  • Depth and Dive Times MUST be limited to actual Gas Mix
  • x2 Dives using up to 50% as Decompression Dives with a 50% Nitrox mix used ONLY for the Decompression stage of the dives (Dives will be on AIR to a maximum depth of 50m/165ft. Minimum depth of 40m/132ft.)  Nitrox at this level is NOT to be used at any depth below 30m/100ft.
  • 4 dives Total Experience on Advanced Nitrox Mixes to Decompression Procedures.
  • Minimum of 2x Stops per dive at 9m/30ft. and 6m/20ft.  (If conditions permit then a 3rd stop at 3m/10ft.)decompression

Please note that this type of diver training and diving has much higher risks then normal scuba diving, which will require a higher degree of diving theory knowledge in Physics and Physiology, Dive Planning and emergency management... Risk of DCS / DCI is high and a complete risk assessment MUST be completed by each diver in the team for themselves (Even if one on one with a professional).

A high degree of control and self-discipline is also required for safe diving at this level... There is very little margin for errors or mistakes..

tech_diversAs an entry level to ITDA Technical diver - Ntech Nitrox from 40% mixes, 50% and even 80%+ as decompression gas for deep diving NITROX itself is NOT A DEEP DIVING GAS) however using EANX (Enriched Aid Nitrox) can be very benefical for divers diving below 40m/132ft on air...

The largest single benefit is more bottom time, however it is NOT a cure for gas guzzellers (Those who breath heavy...)  Look at taking our "Buoyancy and Gas Management Course Program"...

And many technical agencies train and certify divers to 60m/200ft. using air,  Nitrox or oxygen to 100% as a shallow water decompression gas.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT USING 100% OXYGEN MAY CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH... Asntech Oxygen at 100% may be lethal at depths below 6m/20ft...

NOTE: The best mixed-gas for deeper diving is "Trimix"... Learn more about ITDA Ttech-Trimix Here See ITDA Entry Level Trimix

We highly recommend that all divers at this level get trained and certified in CPR and Oxygen First Aid, in the event of an emergency, you will be prepared and may even save a life!

Oxygen first aid is an excellent program and available from your ITDA Instructor or Dive Centre.

If you are not already trained in CPR please get certified as soon as possible or even as part of this course.
