About Diving in Greece
Accessible to all levels of divers with its shallow
diving sites, the dives in Greece
have it all. Between caves and
caverns, lobsters, scorpion fish
and moray eels, there is so much to take in! Let’s
not forget, of course, the famous Avantis 3
wreck, located near Epivadros:
it is a dive site rarely explored, leaving the
objects and clothing from the shipwreck largely
intact.
You can also take advantage of the fabulous
archeological sites at Santorini,
Paros, and Crete:
it should be noted, however, that these dives sites
are strictly regulated. Be sure to respect the
magnificent marine landscape, for the benefit of all
who want to visit.
Here, the calm and warm sea will accommodate
experienced scuba diving, amateur snorkeling or even
other water sports: there is something for every
taste!
The coastline of the Greek islands
is one of the most biodiverse regions
in the Mediterranean Sea,
with a large number of endemic species. It comes as
no surprise then, that there are more than 10
marine reserves located here.
Fauna / Flora
Almost all of the marine species of the
Mediterranean Sea are found in Greek waters.
It is not uncommon to see a school of eagle
rays and colorful fish of varying shapes and
sizes.
Discover the famous Mediterranean monk seals
and the Carrettes turtles, unique to this
little corner of paradise. You may also come
across white barracudas, sharks, groupers,
octopus, and beautiful sea fans… In short,
the Greek seabed is full of a variety of
species – Be sure to keep the fog out of
your mask during these dives!
