Cave Diving & Safety
Cave diving has always been a serious challenge for any diver and with advances in safety and technology this is still very much the case. Caving or Cave Diving is NOT for those who are prepared to just jump in and dive... Unless you want to risk serious injury or even death!
Cave and overhead environments in general represent a unique danger for divers as many Cave may seen very inviting with crystal clear cool waters, however the risks of accidents are very high for those who are NOT experienced or certified in this very specialist area of diving.
About ITDA Cave Diver
Cave diving is considered to be the most dangerous type of diving that is certified, along with ICE Diving and Wreck penetration diving these types of diving activities are classified by ITDA as "Overhead Environment Diving", in the event of any kind of emergency there is NO DIRECT ACCESS to the surface for help.
So these divers MUST be at all times at the very top of their game. Knowledgeable, Physically Fit, Mentally Fit, Well equipped and always prepared for a problem or series of problems. This is why we train to a higher standard...
Like all ITDA Technical "Specialist" Training and certification, we offer three (3) levels.

Introduction to Cave Diving (Basic Safe Cave Diver (L1) Certification
Program) 10 Dives / 4/5 days. Age 18 -
ITDA Cave Diver (level 2) Intermediate Level. 10 Dives / 4-5 days. Age 18

ITDA Advanced Cave Diver (Level 3). Age 21
Who can take the Program?
The Level 1. Introduction to Cave Diving - ITDA Cave Diver (L1) is open to any training organisation divers from advanced levels but should also be rescue diving certified or may take the short ITDA Rescue Assist Module prior to open water cave diving, also we require by standard CPR & Oxygen First Aid. IHMP / DAN / EFAR etc. is recognised by ITDA. See ITDA/IHMP Medical training pages
The Level 2. ITDA Cave Diver Certification, requires that divers must hold a basic or entry level cave diving certification, (Cavern Diver is NOT acceptable at this level), from ITDA or any other technical diving agency.
The Level 3. ITDA Advanced Cave Diver is ONLY available to those who have been through ITDA Level 2, or Certified Cave Divers from any technical training agency with 50+ logged cave dives or 40+ Hours of Cave diving logged.

Who can certify?
Only a Current ITDA Cave Diving Specialist instructor may train and certify level 1 and 2 ITDA Cave Diver, Level 3. Requires an ITDA Advanced Cave Instructor or Cave Diving Trainer (Highly experienced specailistd in Cave Diving).
