About Extended Range Diver Certification

Our extended range program is one of the most flexible deep diver courses available today, and covers three (3) areas for certification in one combined program... 1. Deep Air Diver (Diving on Air to 50m/165ft.) - 2. Decompression Diver (Using Decompression techniques with staged deco on upto 4 stops... 3. Extended Range with Decompression to a depth of 60m/300ft.  The technical student at this level may take the "Extended Range Certification, or be registered for an application for all 3. Levels...

Theory modules (Dry Classroom or Self-Study / On-line) included at this level are:

• Dive Physics
• Decompression Theory
• Diving Physiology
• Technical Equipment and Configurations for deep diving
• Introduction to Hyperbaric Medicine
• Cognitive skills testing

Skills and Dives Required for each level

• Deep Diver
  • 2 Dives to 40m/132ft. with congnative skills
  • 2 dives on air to 50m/165ft. with deco stops at 12m/40ft. - 9m/30ft. and 6m/20ft.
  • 1 Deep Rescue Dive from 40m/132ft.
• Decompression Diver
  • 2 Dives to 30m/100ft with cognative skills tests with single stops at 6m/20ft.
  • 1 Dive to 40m/132ft. with cognative skills tests and 2 Deco Stops at 9m/30ft. and 6m/20ft.
  • 1 Deep Rescue Dive from 40m/132ft.
• Extended Range Diver
  • 2 Dives to 60m/300ft. with 3 stops (No skills at depth)
  • 2 Dives to 40m/132ft. with cognative skills tests
  • 1 Deep Rescue Dive from 40m/132ft.

If divers are certified advanced nitrox they may use Nitrox to 50% for decompression or lower mixes if 50% is not practical... i.e. a 36% or 40%... 

Who can train and Certify this Level?

Any ITDA Level 2. Or Advanced Technical or Extended Range  Instructor - Technical Instructors from other agencies may train and certify this level if they are certified and can demonstrate the experience levels required... They need only to register with ITDA Group HQ and may or may not crossover to ITDA...
