Nitrox Open Water Diver
The ITDA Scuba Nitrox Program is one of our most popular specialist programs as divers from any agency can enter this level for ITDA Nitrox training and certification with upgrade to advanced Nitrox which many agencies do not offer...
We also have an upgrade and crossover to Technical diving...
What is NITROX? Simply it is a breathing mix with higher levels of Oxygen, also known as Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx)
About our Nitrox Scuba Program (ITDA Ntech)
ITDA has been running and continuously developing this program from 1998 when we first introduced our Ntech Nitrox diver program as an entry level technical certification which would provide an upgrade to sports nitrox divers from any agency.
We have now opened this program as a fixed gas limit of 32% and 36% Oxygen known as a "Common Mix"... With MOD Maximum Operating Depth Limits for "Sports Scuba Open Water Divers" of 30m/100ft.
We are now offering two (2) Clear options: 1. Use nitrox in your Scuba Open Water Program and gain 2 Certification, Nitrox Diver and Scuba Open Water... Or 2. Be certified as ITDA Nitrox Open Water Diver... Additional dives and theory will be required including at least 1 dive to 30m/100ft. plus a basic understanding of decompression theory, using the ITDA Dive Physics and Physiology modules...
Sports Nitrox as above may also be used in our Open Water Diver Certification as a part of our "Open Water Scuba+Plus" Programs i.e. two or more certification from your Open Water Scuba Diver Program... Just ask your ITDA Instructor?
We also offer Ntech Nitrox from 40% mixes, 50% and even 80%+ as decompression gas for deep diving NITROX itself is NOT A DEEP DIVING GAS) however using EANX (Enriched Aid Nitrox) can be very benefical for divers diving below 40m/132ft on air...
And many technical agencies train and certify divers to 60m/200ft. using air, Nitrox or oxygen to 100% as a shallow water decompression gas. ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT USING 100% OXYGEN MAY CAUSE DEATH)100% Oxygen may be lethal at depths below 6m/20ft...
NOTE: The best mixed-gas for deeper diving is "Trimix"... Learn more about Trimix Here See ITDA Entry Level Trimix
We highly recommend that all divers at this level get trained and certified in CPR and Oxygen First Aid, in the event of an emergency, you will be prepared and may even save a life!
Oxygen first aid is an excellent program and available from your ITDA Instructor or Dive centre.
If you are not already trained in CPR please get certified as soon as possible or even as part of this course.
